Welcome Trans-Oceanic fans.
What a meeting we have planned for you this week. We
have thirteen members here at the Nathan Hale
Library. We have our regular January weather, really
cold.
President Chris Cunningham
called the meeting to order.
The first item of business was
to relate the slate of new officers. All positions
remained the same except Vice President. Dan
Weilacher opted to be a full time Director and
Radiogram Editor. Scott Petty was unanimously voted
in as Vice President. Congratulations Scott.
Next, we discussed of the
up-coming 8 week long Vacuum Tube Technology course
offered by HLARA. All of the details will follow in
a soon to be released e mail.
The presentation for the
evening was: The History of the Zenith Trans-Oceanic
Radio, presented by Dan Weilacher. This topic was
backed up by all of the members bringing their
Trans-Oceanic radios for a great display. We had all
of the different models except for one. What a great
show. See this month’s meeting photos for the
complete lineup. I won’t list what each person
brought this month. Suffice it to say it was
probably a Zenith.
We had a small but spirited
donation auction.
Dan won two shortwave books and
several Antique Radio Classifieds.
Wayne went home with a Phillips
25 MHz Oscilloscope.
Scott picked up a RCA
Senior Volt Ohmyst
An EICO signal generator went
to John Anderson.
The meeting ran a little long
but what a treat to see all those Trans-Oceanics
backed up by Dan’s great presentation. If you missed
it you really missed a good one.
Remember the next meeting will
be February 21st.
Respectfully Submitted,
John Anderson HLARA Secretary
